i hate shooting spiders, bugs or anything similar this is usually found in the macro section of this forum. so the only time i visit this section if for a non-insect thread.

i think this is considered macro.

my friend went to Africa this summer and brought back a few coins. I am not sure what country this coin is from though.

100mm f/2.8 macro lens
ISO 250
f/13
shutter 1/100

i thought it was interesting because of the elephant.

any thoughts?

What elephant? That's a rhino. Interesting coin though. Not sure where it's from.

Hi Brodog,
The coin is from Tanzania in East Africa, and is for fifty shillings, (Shilingi hamsini is Swahili for "shillings fifty"), but don't get too carried away by thoughts of wealth, as it's worth about 4 cents US, and you won't buy much for that, even in Tanzania.

Omri alon- thanks a lot. i have attached another photo i took with at f/2.8 so the DOF is very different than my orginal post

Sharnbrock 0 you are right, my friend also said it was worth only aobut 5 cents USD

Looks like you were much closer in that new shot... that will also affect your DOF considerably.

The first one's a nice shot. Have you tried balancing it on its edge and taking shots of it?
