Yes,. what you see is roughly what you get. I recall you see 95% of the image. Most viewfinders don't show 100%... not really sure why but the difference is so minimal it doesn't seem a draw back at all.

I think the only time when a 100 percent viewfinder is important is when you are shooting transparency film for projection. You don't have an opportunity for aftercropping and sometimes nasties appear at the frame edges you never saw in the viewfinder when shooting.
But with digital cameras which, by and large, are going to be output to prints, either on the web or on paper, a little Photoshop edge cropping when necessary certainly doesn't hurt.
