Took this one this past weekend; I only wish he'd chosen a more natural perch that still gave the chance for that background.

Apologies for the slight JPEG artifacts.

Yes, a natural perch would have been preferable, but still a very nice capture.

Great shot, colors and sharpness. I love those active little Palms. I like how they flick their tails constantly. Always makes me smile.

I've always felt that any shot of a wild bird is helpful. For instance, this picture tells me more about the Palm Warbler than if you had it posed on a limb out in the woods. I now know this bird can be found around man made structures and isn't bothered too much by people. You can't get that from a bird on a limb. ;)

Anyway, it's a great picture.

Well said. And that is very true of the Palm Warbler. Not too shy around people. It's unlikely you'll see a Mourning Warbler on a man-made structure. On that note, I've often said that a shot of a Red-tailed Hawk on a telephone pole or tower is quite accurate as I see them perched there far more often than on tree branches.

This is a first view for me to see this cute warbler and a treat to see. The sharpness and good colour is quite exceptional in this shot and with a good background makes it an excellent shot, well done.
