I was fortunate to catch this shot during a photoshoot for SandSports Magazine at St Anthony sand dunes in Idaho. Thankfully nobody was hurt and the car received only cosmetic damage. The sand was very wet and was begining to dry out on the surface. The driver turned it a little to sharp on a downhill section and over it went, landing back on its wheels again. Shots taken with a Canon Digital Rebel with 75-300mm lense.

It was taken at 2.5fps with the camera's 4 frame buffer. I really need to upgrade to a newer faster model. The 4 seperate images were photoshopped together to make this sequence.

Err... he doesn't have a crash helmet on does he? Might have seemed sensible perhaps?

Nice sequence tho.

Nice sequence! Great job putting it all together. Were you shooting for SandSports, or was SandSports there shooting and you happened to be taking pictures, as well?

I was shooting for Sandsports. I am fairly new to the business but I am doing freelance work for a number of different motorsports related magazines.

Great work Stephen,

I really like this idea of multiple shots sequenced into the one frame. I might give this a try one day. I have seen some great results with UWA lenses on a tripod shooting skateboarders. It looks awesome.

Keep shooting,

did you see that coming or were you taking pictures of every car that came round the corner because this is great timing to see the begining of the tumble and excellent stitching aswell... nice work.

I didnt have it in my viewfinder when it started to roll but some was able to move quick enough to capture the whole thing. It started to roll fairly slowly, the front tire was off the ground for about 30 feet, and then it caught and away it went.
