That's a beautiful shot, one of the prettiest ducks and great environment.

A very nice shot. Since you have "Image editing OK" I took the liberites to make a great shot a little better by adjusting the "levels" and tried to correct the focus on the head.

Many thanks Dennis not a problem, unfortunately your edit seems to have blown the whites a tad - ofcourse this could be my monitor! Thank you for your efforts.
Kind Regards Alan.

Wonderful looking duck Alan and nicely photographed.. I also took the liberty to edit.just to bringout the eye and blacks.a slight adjustment on shadows -10% and then a slight dodge on the eye and head. Let me know if you approve...or not.

Hi Alan;
The Eider in it's full plumage sure is a magnificent looking duck... Well done...
And it makes for a great duvet as well!
Cheers;
Lee

Nice job Gary, you are right, I wasn't watching the whites as I should have.

Chris, many thanks for your comment & observations, much appreciated.
Gary - always open to any help and/or advice especially from someone as accomplished as you! the edit looks fine apart from maybe a tad of grey been introduced on the head area, many thanks. Black and White birds as you know - 'a pain in the butt' as you guys would say. Thanks for the time.
Again a very nice edit Dennis and I much appreciate it but still a tad grey on the head unless ofcourse its my monitor.
Thank you all.
Kind regards Alan.

Many thanks Lee for your kind comments, don't know how old you are Lee but the old fashioned word for a Duvet is an 'Eiderdown' (hence the title) a cloth cover filled with yes Eider down. Bit of a history lesson for the young non Geordies.
Kind regards Alan.
