Those were the days. Engines in the front, American drivers, packed grandstands, 50 cars trying for those 33 spots, and on and on. Nice pic of the Offy intakes. Brings back many memories.

I really like these 'macro' sort of race car pics. So many of the elements of these cars have such nice curves. There aren't too many fields where form following function is so beautiful.

Yeah 3rd turn I am sure you have seen a lot of changes at Indy since going to that first one. BTW did you get winner circle shots of Ray Harroun that day?

Mostly because I was trying out a new lens that really wasn't a good choice for taking car pics. Here's another though

Liked the first tight crop but the last one doesn't do it for me. Not sure what your trying to potray in the last one. Then as you say you were trying out a new lens so maybe this is the reason for the crop.
