I was out on Saturday of the Canadian Thankgiving weekend with Gary (Fairhead), Ted (Busbyea) and Wayne (Liv2trip). There wasn't much happening early but we did catch a group of 12 cormorants on the hazy Ottawa River. I cropped this into a panoramic type format but only kept 10 birds in the shot.
On Monday I visited Bruce Pit near my home and tried to photograph almost 1000 Canada geese. I never did get the running taking offs I wanted but I like this slight crop.

:D Those Cormorants can't decide what direction to go in:D The shot came out pretty good Stephen considering the foggy conditions and how far out they were that morning. Wonderful warm Fall colors in the second image.. nice action...very nice!

Yes, the cormorants heads are in all directions, this is a very interesting pano shot Stephen. Apparently the number 10 means completeness, so a good complete shot.
I like the Canadian geese in-flight the best of the two, with the colours of the farmland and fall makes good composition to the shot.

Picture perfect and artful, conveying the sense of natural habitat
(Alas, those images do undermine my belief somewhat that PIPers are mostly into stunt owl, blue jay and woodpecker portraits.);)

Thank you Gary, Tony, Petkal and Reyno for takingthe time to comment.
I must saw that the cormorants shot shows a lot of grain on my screen at work. The original is definitely cleaner than this version.

Hi Stephen,
I realy like number 1. The pano is great, love the confused look in the birds.
Well done.

I love the Commorants in the fog shot. The fact that they are facing different directions makes for an intersting shot. Tha pana style crop also works well. The 2nd shot is also nicely done and definitly has a "autum look" to it with the colors in the background. Nice work!

And don't forget those "Trained Squirrels"
Lovely shots Stephen; especially like the beautiful color as a backdrop in your geese image.
