I try not to answer questions if I don't have a complete solution. However, perhaps I can lead you toward the right path and you can find your way.

When programs are installed in XP, there is an option to make it available to THIS USER or ALL USERS. It may be possible that the program was installed when the ADMINISTRATOR was logged on and it was set only to be used by THIS USER.

If you can figure out how to change that setting in XP, you should do that. Otherwise I would uninstall the program and reinstall it making sure it is available to all users.

When I click on the program's icon it shows the splash screen and it shutdowns immediately.
Thanks

OK. First thing I can think of is to uninstall it and try to install it fresh again.

I've already done that

It seems to me ZoomBrowser tries to write something on the disk that needs administrator rights. So check what you're rights are and give yourself administrator rights. That should solve the problem.

I am not sure about XP, but in Windows 2000 if you right click on the Zoombrowser shortcut on your desktop and choose properties, there is a Security tab. It looks like this
http://www.gksdesign.com/ixus400/various/zbproperties.jpg

You can modify programme access rights straight from there. Hope this helps :)

Try disabling any pop-up-blocker software that you have running. It can and does interfere with ZoomBrowser EX. Just a thought.

Try reapplying the default Windows XP Security templates to the system.

Instructions can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/proddocs/SCM_revert.asp

The fact that it works in administrative mode, means it's a security setting or change on the other accounts.

I was in contact with the swedish canon suport and they gave me the advice to reinstall Zoom Browser with antivirus program Deactivated. Well I'm at work now so I havent tried it yet. Hopfully this will solve the problem. This problem with Zoom Browser was new to the support...

( They better check "Photography-on-the.net" more often... )
