:)
Funny little story, that I will update along the way.
Friend of mine, an avid EOS 1, 3 etc. film shooter has been enticed by the Drebel revolution.
The price is low enough on a body, that he is going to get one. He says to me "yeah, I think I am going to get one, it will be a good toy to play with"
Now, even though the Drebel is not for me, I stuck up for my fellow digital EOS commrads.
I told him he had better not discount the Drebel, you are going to be amazed. Especially when he mates it up with his L glass collection.
I will let you know how we change this guys life around!

What's this thing with 300D being a toy anyway? The American name "Rebel" (yeah, sound stupid)? Silver colour (I'd think it costs more to do than black)?

As far as my wife is concerned even my 10D is a toy but I'm not complaining as long as I can get to play with it whenever I want. In the meantime I'm just waiting for the next PMA announcement from Canon to see what other toy I can buy and play with. :D

They are all toys, the car, the motorbike, the cameras; remember he who dies with the most toys......wins
We were so poor when I was young, if I had not been a boy I would have had no toys to play with.

I do not understand.
My 10D is definately not an investment => I expect it to be worthless in two years.
My 10D is not a tool => I make no money from it. I can't build anything with it.
My 10D is therefore a toy that I play with.
:P Remember: the difference between men and boys. . .

Yes, I can see that. I thought that EOS300D was considered a toy in comparision to 10D (and I've read those silver colour complaints).

We need to define the difference between tools and toys. :)
Toys are things which bring us pleasure when we use them.
Tools are things that we must use to perform work, presumably to earn enough money to buy more toys.
For the rare among us that actually enjoys his work, tools and toys are synonomous.
