'65 Mercury Comet Caliente 289

Ron's '65 Mercury Comet Caliente has a 220 bhp 289. It's an automatic & he's had it for 20 years.
His wife has a convertible.

I have a 65 Comet that was bought brand new in 65 by my late Grandfather. Ironicaly it is the same color ( ocean breeze ) mine has a 200 with a dot c 4 tranny. Is the comet in the pic a 404? Yours has more of a trim package than mine, any ideas where to find replacement parts? I am looking for quarter panels.

404? Ron didn't give many details. Have you tried the inet for parts? Or remind me next May-June & I'll see if I can come up with a source.
