It is clear how to define metadata keywords for photo pages using the photo editor.

But how do you define keywords for the index page (other than manually editing)? Is there any functionality built into EE to do this?

I'm unclear exactly what you're trying to do, but this potentially sounds like a job for virtual exhibitions.

I think superchief means the keywords you can add in the header op HTML pages so that search engines know where the site is about.

I would like to change the meta keywords for the index page that search engines use to find your site and catalog what it is about. I can see very good tools for keywording the photo pages and the exhibition pages but not the index page. Perhaps I missed something obvious?

Go to Styles, then select the Style you are using from the top dropdown. Now scroll down to Index, Content template and edit the default_XHTML_content.php file.

At the top of this you can set the meta keywords for your index page.
