With all the dealers out of 10D's is anyone buying them on ebay, they seem to have several. I was wondering if it is a gimmick or what. Have any of you purchased them on Ebay?

Most likely they will take your order for one, the you will have to wait till they get it in stock just like everyone else. This is what happened when I bought my DR, but they got it instock within 5 days of my purchase.

I purchassed my 10D in an eBay auction last year. The seller was ProDigital2000, and the transaction was flawless, shipping immediate upon payment, etc. Several other reputable mail-order camera sellers operate eBay auctions on an ongoing basis.

Got mine from an Australian Ebay shop called HARRISONS. Excellent service. Order to Australia, sent from the USA to the UK! Have bought from them before. This time they used an intermediary in order to bring more people on board who were worried about customs duties. My camera was initially sent FedEx to a bloke in Kent (Southern England) who forwared it on to me in Manchester (North West).
The only worry I have is warranty. Although it came with a 3 year warranty from a company called MACK in the States, I am not too sure on how easy it will be to get a repair should one be needed. In the documentation about international service, it says that if I need a repair, it can be carried out at a "manufacturers authorized service center in your area".
First of all I have to describe the problem to MACK who will then authorise a repair and get an estimate from the "service center" which will be forwarded to me. Once the repair is complete, MACK reimburse me.

Good grief!

Has anyone any experience of MACK ?

Yes - first thing I did.
Would be interested to hear of experiences following any claims.
Alan.

Purchased mine from a local camera store I never knew was here. (not real local an hour away) But I will support the local shops whenever possible.

Thanks for the tips though.
