Taking pics of a barklouse on my car (for a change) when I noticed a Harlequin ladybird land on the car a couple of feet away. The ladybird walked about 3 inches in the opposite direction then turned around and walked back towards me straight up to the barklouse and ate it !.
Can't be certain but I'm sure the ladybird was smelling a trail left by the barklouse.

that lens really is amazing - you can even see the simple eye of the Barklouse. Excellent work and interesting tale.

Hiya Brian,
Excellent captures, the detail of the Bark-louse's eye is brill & one gets a great idea of the scale of things in #2.
Still can't get out n about well enough to take any shot yet, it's doin my head in, don't know which is worse not having a camera to shoot with or as now having one & being unable to, bah humbug ;-)
Cheers for now

Aww poor barklouse :( Nice shots, as usual impressive detail, especially the resolution on the barklouse shot. Amazing!

Didnt know you had been laid low but checked your posts and see that you have had surgery on your feet. Intrigued to know who laid into you with rubber hose as you are too young to have been a Korean War p.o.w. Anyway hope you are up and running soon!

You'll have to get the wife to bring in some foliage- bound to find some bugs on it ;) :D . Hope the situation improves soon.

Thanks for the comments all:)
I'd love to know if bugs really can track each other by smell (I mean predators rather than the sex pheromone thing).

Hiya Brian,

I've heard the there's an outbreak of head-lice in one of the local schools, excellent subject I thought, but I really do hope my stepson doesn't get em !!!

Maybe Ami should bring some muck in for me to rummage through.

My left foot is comming on fine but its the right that playin silly buggers, am getting the Physio Terrorist to ave a go on it in a Wks. time.

I'll just make do with looking at everybody else's shots for now:D & I'm going to practice doin some focus stacked shots on inanimate objects around the house to try & keep my eye in.

Cheers for now

Brian, your car is a bug magnet! I remember you posted another series of bugs on your car earlier... Don't ever sell that car, if only for the macro buggy shots! :D :D
