for central london people

im currently in central london...ive been to jessops in oxford street but they seem to not carry B+W MRC UV filters....

would you know where I can get 1? i need it for my 24-105L, and maybe a polarizing filter also.....

Jacobs might - call them. There is one on the end of london Bridge (City end)

There is a Jacobs just accros the road from the Jessops on New Oxford Street. I got a new tripod and a circ-polariser there at the weekend. At the same time, just to out do me, my mate impulse bought the 16-35 F2.8L

The cheapest place I have found in London is in Kamla on Tottenham Court Road. I bought my 30D, 24-105 F/4L, CF card and filter for a price that the other shops wouldn't even entertain, and far cheaper than I found online. Just push them hard. Tell them the Jacobs price and out of sheer pride/stupidity they'll beat it.

Heliopan filters (very similar to B & W) are available at: http://www.teamworkphoto.com/heliopan.html (I bought my Lee system from Teamwork - very helpful) - quite near Gower Street, just off Tottenham Ct Road. Just stick the postcode in Multimap.

I paid just under £1500 a few months ago for the 30D, 24-105L, 2Gb CF card and a filter.

It was a bundle deal, so I can't give the exact prices, sorry.

Jacobs (as mentioned above) sell the 24-105L for £699 and Jessops (opposite) sell the 30D for £744 (i got them to price match). both shops in new Oxford st by the way.
I must say i was very surprised at Jacobs price for the 24-105L. this was at the time where all the other shops in Central London had weeks worth of back orders, some £100 dearer as well.
Although i have used TCR a lot over the years im now very cautios of what i get there as i have ended up with fake Audio cables, MD's and my mate got a fake Sony Camcorder. all sold as originals. plus lots of grey imports so check the warrenty cards.
