When I open pictures in the zoombrowser ex preview window(33% zoom) they appear distorted. Horizontal and vertical elements in the picture have a "sawtooth" appearance. What should be a straight line, such as a stick or countertop edge is not straight. When I zoom to 100% the pics look ok. Also when I lower the resolution to email a pic it looks better. The pics print out looking ok. I am using a canon A80 on M1, superfine (1600X1200) resolution. My computer screen is set at 1024X768. Is this a zoombrowser or computer problem? Would the problem be resolved by using Photoshop Elements or ACDSee 6.0 to view and edit my pictures? I can't edit a pic that appears distorted but in reality is ok. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have concerning this issue.

When you search for ZoomBrowser you'll find many topics and there are very few who are positive. I used my ZoomBrowser for about a day and then switched to BreezeBrowser.

It sounds like it is not doing a very good job of resizing the image when it is showing it at 33%, ie ZB is just doing a quick and dirty resize.

Thanks for your input. I plan on installing Photoshop Elements or ACDSee to view and edit my pics. Will either of those tools work with a Canon A80 to download from the camera to the computer? Which would be the best tool for me? I am new to digital photography.

I think you'll need to install the TWAIN-driver to make it work, I never tried it myself.

Your best bet is to get a card reader so that you won't have to connect the camera to the PC. You will then have no need for Canon's Zoombrowser as you can do all the browsing and editing you want from Photoshop Elements or any other phot editing tool.
