Hi
Although I have posted one of these in another forum I thought I would repost it here for critiques and advice as I am pretty new to trying to capture something better than a snapshot. :D
Both taken in between rain showers on the North Yorkshire Coast.
350D and Sigma 18-125, both handheld. Some PP work.

Thanks
Dave

#2 is a nice seascape. #1 has an overpowering noise level.

Agree with jon, the first is too noisy, and looks like fog...was it foggy out?

The 2nd one gets my vote... I would use that for something in stock or frame it if i could! Its great!

Thanks for the feedback :D
I hadn't really picked up on how noisy the first was, guess I haven't quite got my eye in yet. I think it was a combination of some mist, using ISO400 and my amature PP work.
I'd like to use my tripod more to get the ISO down to 100 and still get good DOF, but as most of my shots are taken while out hiking with either my wife or a friend, my use of a tripod is strictly limited. I don't want to test their patience too much....especially the wife ;) .

I looked at them and there was something no quite right for me. I discovered what it was when I scrolled and found that if a bit more of the sky was cropped it was more appealing. If you crop #2 just above the white cloud it seems to make a big difference IMHO

Thanks for the suggestion Weka. I tried the crop but am undecided, I quite like ,and wanted to keep, the sky detail
BTW you have some cracking shots in your portfolio, something for me to aspire to :D .
I had a holiday in your beautiful country a couple of years ago (South Island), I really regret that it was before I had a decent digital camera and an interest in photography :( .
