Can't seem to find the anser anywhere.
Is there a remote control, either infrared or plug-in that works with the Canon S3 IS?

Thanks

No, but I sure would like one. You can use your computer as a remote by plugging it in and useing the software that came with the camera. That could be handy for someone with a laptop. Since I only have a desktop computer I need a long, long cord.:) Maybe a small handheld computer with the software would work.

I have the S1 and it did support a wireless remote; It appears that Canon dropped this feature with the S2 and S3 sadly!

There are long USB cables that you could 'daisy chain' I don't know how many before the current drops too low.
There are also remotes that work by pressing the shutter button, go google.

silly question maybe but: i notice canon still has the s1 remote for sale, any reason to think it might work with other models? (s2,s3 etc)

You can use the S3 hack and make your own usb remote fairly easy.
