Hi, this is my first time posting a photo here. I took this photo of my grandmother at her 97th birthday party this summer at Lake George NY. She came to America back in the '30's from Albania. She is still living by herself and is pretty darn good for 97. Hopefully we can all be just like her at 97.

I used my old Rebel XT and the nifty 50 1.8!
Personally, I think the photo looks a tad to dark but I blame that on my skill at moving the photo to the web. Tell me what you guys think. Thanks
Todd

I love photo's like this.
alot of people her age...well if they reach anything near her age just seem miserable all the time!
I love to see an old man or lady smiling!
makes me feel warm inside!

A terrific photo with the nifty-fifty of a great looking lady.
I can't tell you how great it is to see a woman her age in good health and with an obvious joy to be alive.
Congratulations!

Hey thanks for the comments so far. We always joke around and tell her that other people get confused and think shes only 80.

Sometimes I get Sooo Tired of people who seem to be deprived of any common sense, And I'm only 29. If I am still smiling at 97, I'm sure that I will have givin' up driving before the age of 65.

I think the question is, do you like it. She is your grammy. She has a beautiful soul and I think you just showed it to us. Don't fix it if ain't broke.

Todd - that is a nice picture of your grandmother. What a great smile she has!
Heck, I'm only 32 and I don't look that good.

Great pose, great lighting, great smile, excellent background choice. My only nitpick is that it's cropped a bit too close for my taste on the right side.

wow 97 years of age.
Really nice portrait, with a smile like that after so many years on this earth she must be a special lady.

She looks like she's doing well at 97. I would have guessed early 80s.

Try converting to black and white and see what you think. Just an idea, but I'm thinking that it will add a classic look and a bit of timelessness:)

Hey, tried a quick conversion with levels. Just a basic conversion, nothing fancy.

your conversion is good, but i really love the colors in the first....it just seems to have more "life" if you know what i mean. she is beautful! I would give anything to have a picture of my grandmother. soooo many members of your family will love this pic forever!

I personally like it better in black and white, but either way it is a nice image:)
