F111 Dump and Burn

Very dull overcast day at the airshow today. This is an F111 doing it's signature manoeuvre - the dump and burn.

I almost didn't go due to miseable weather. Once in 5 years though....glad I did. Pic 1 is about 1800 pixel wide crop of 4300, should make a good large print. Most of my other pics are pretty dull - grey aircraft with grey sky :(

I wanted to be in Sydney today - for that show and to pick my 100-400 up (not in that order) but I had to work. Working tomorrow, too, so it kinda knackers my chances. Saw some of it on TV but it isn't quite the same.

Great shots Dave. We get a yearly dump and burn for our Riverfire festival. Never get shots like these though as its at night so theres never any detail on the F111.

I must say I did have some lens envy yesterday. So many people with big white lenses. Did you get any pictures of the C-17?

It was like shooting at dusk! Obviously no problem for the dump and burn.
