Having trouble focusing UP CLOSE with my S400

I am having trouble getting a good focus on objects up close. For instance, I am trying to take pics of my car's interior, which I am selling online. I wanted to take a pic of my odometer reading but it appears very blurry through the LCD and will not focus. I'm sure this is an easy step that I'm missing...thanks for the help!

Make sure you're not in the "landscape" mode. There's a button on the back that toggles you between Macro, Landscape, and Normal modes. If its in Landscape, there should be a "mountain" symbol showing up in the LCD screen. Landscape mode locks the focus at infinity, thus blurring closer images.

Thanks for the tip Tom, that did it. I put it in Macro mode, the "flower" symbol, and that allows me to focus in real close to objects.
