We have something like that here in Wisconsin called shaggy mane. (Ours are good to eat!) It self-dissolves like your mushrooms. Good depth of field!:D

Thanks Nitefrogger - it is also known here as Lawyers Wig or Shaggy Ink Cap. They are good to eat - before they start to turn black.

I found this in a field with some giant puffballs.

Shaggy Ink Cap.

Are they the same ink cap's that you can eat, as long as you don't drink alchohol within 24 (i think) hours of consuming, as they become poisonous?

Very nice shots, especially #3. ;)

i'm a fan of shooting mushrooms, even though i find it tough sometimes to frame them in an interesting way....these are the best shroom shots i've seen in a while! nice job!

They are edible - but I've not heard that about drinking alcohol for 24 hours. Not sure I could last that long! :)

Second is interesting but I really like the third one, I can't precisely place why - something to do with the framing and the play of light (the brightness in the far left)... very nice shot. Well worth the sheep crap. :p

I think they could benefit further from some subtle post processing. I've tinkered with the curves, saturation, lightness and added some slight sharpening.

Ahh, it's not nature photography unless you get poop all over yah!

I've done a bit of fungi photography and can strongly recommend the use of a CPL to cut the suns reflection.

A CPL also does wonders for flowers.

Thanks guys. Sorry Mizuno but I think I prefer the original.
