Beautifully sharp images. I'm begining to think - and it's very reluctantly - that a 70-200mmL is going to have to happen
Was the goalie really as scared of the ball as he looks in #3?
regards,
/alan

Thank you. :)
Buy that lens! I think the 70-200 f4 L is the most satisfying photographic purchase I have ever made. It doesn't cost as much as most of the L lenses yet gives sharp images at all apertures and is lovely and light. As I got it for outdoor sports and landscapes I didn't see the point of getting the f2.8 IS version. It's not just the much higher cost. The IS would add nothing to this kind of shooting as I need fast shutter speeds anyway, and the extra weight would just annoy me. It fits my needs perfectly - except it would be nice to get a tiny bit more reach! (I'm considering buying the 100-400 L now - maybe I have L-itis?) :(
The goalie does look a bit scared doesn't he? The poor man let in 4 goals today! ;)

these are pretty good Mike the only thing i would suggest is that you try cropping the 2 guys out of the Bg in #1 they are a little distracting.

They won 4-2. I have been shooting them for about 8 games and they have yet to lose when I am there (but they do lose occasionally when I can't make it - spooky!)

That is the first time I have even noticed them but you're right - they must be exterminated - cloning rather than cropping I think!
