It's starting again...the sweats, the heartburn, that twinge by my right eye. Maybe it's the coffee. It seems I've been drinking it nonstop for better than a week now. My eyes are blurry from staring at this d@mn monitor. I need a shower, BAD! I don't remember January taking this long to pass. What a lousy month. Lousy weather, everyones in a bad mood, just miserable. Oh good, here's another one. Another post by some wiseguy who claims to know something about the new Canon. Loser! Doesn't he realize that nobody knows. I've searched the entire web and come up with nothing. Those bastards at Canon are probably all former spooks. No one else could keep a secret this tight. My wife tells me that "all will be known in February". I tell her to leave me alone. I have no time for her anymore. I'm sure the information will come. I have to be the first to know! 8 megapixels? 9 FPS? An integral microwave oven? It doesn't matter, Canon could be releasing the A1 for all I know. Why don't they release something!? Just a hint. Some preliminary stats... anything! D@mn them! So here I sit, waiting for February. My credit card clutched tightly in my sweaty hand. Waiting... I wonder how long it will take for the accumulation of crumbs from the Dorritos I've been subsisting on to short out my keyboard? I should send the wife out to buy some more... and coffee. I need more coffee...

31 plus some odd days to go for the BIG announcement. Then another couple of weeks before the NEW camera hits the streets! Better make your coffee a double or even a triple. :D :D :D

I'm freezing my nards off!

I tried taking the 10D out two days ago,. the second shot the shutter would not trip,. it stuck in place,. error99....

(all's well once it thawed though,. working fine indoors!)

As someone pointed out, its about a month before the announcement, thne another month (maybe 2) before the actualy release.

That puts you just 9 months before the next announcement.

Sounds like self imposed suffering to me.

Just buy a camera for gosh sakes and forget about it.....

So you'd be talking about the 1Ds. Do you see a sign in front of my house that says "1Ds Owner"? No? That's because owning a 1Ds ain't my business! Do you know what's gonna happen if my wife comes home and finds a 1Ds in my garage? I'm gonna get divorced! No marriage counselor, no trial seperation...DIVORCED. And I don't wanna get divorced! :-)

It isn't the coffee, it is subliminal messages and conditioning or they spiked the water to effect Canon users.

Jim,
If it is any idea, it was in the -30s during the day this past week back home, in the US. I don't know if it was quite that cold where CDS is. That was why I asked about the 10D performance in cold weather. The wild bit about that is now it is in the 20s and that is a +50 degree temp change and everyone is saying heat wave and it is still below freezing!

For some, the wait is half the "fun". Most have "a" camera. It's the newest one that is the most interesting to a person with a camera addiction.

I too have my credit card in hand waiting.

. Another post by some wiseguy who claims to know something about the new Canon. Loser! Doesn't he realize that nobody knows.

So, what does that make you? Isn't this just more of the same?

The anticipation is half the thrill...the next big thing...going on record as to speculating the performance/features/price...all in good fun....

Do I really care what it is, not so much. Am I going to get one anyway, well... yes, probably I'll order about four dozen, so you all can call and order one
