Ok...some of you may have read my post about getting a new canon rebel xt and asking for advice on tips, tricks, and techniques. Well, these are a few from my nieces soccer game (u-5), birthday party, and a "mini-photoshoot" I talked her in to. C&C Please...
I took 196 pictures in all, but I've only uploaded a few to my flickr account (since we are only allowed to upload 2 on here)
My Account (I think):

Here are a few more of my favorites that I couldn't upload to flickr because of the upload limit:rolleyes:

thanks. I took 248 pictures and came out with about 30 that I really like ;)
Any comments or critiques?
Btw, i'm hoping to buy a 70-200mm f/4L soon (as Skip knows)

Nice pics, looks like you're having fun. My only cc would be that when shooting children, try to bring the cam at eye level with the subject, instead of looking down at them, unless the shot is intended that way. Keep shooting and sharing.

Thanks...i tried to keep that in mind...that tree house was actually about eye level to me
any other C&C? I'm not liking those too much...nothing spectacular - lighting and exposure doesn't seem too good:confused:

Adorable subject. These are the shots that are absolute must-includes in any family album.
These are great snapshots. The focus is sharp. The DOF works well and the exposure is right on. The little girl's expression is awesome.
Something that would have improved the image is light position and control. There's not enough detail in the eyes and the catchlights are missing. Side lighting would have really made a difference. Front lighting is usually flat and without modeling. In general, you shots are definitely keepers.

Thanks! I took these about an hour before dark with no flash (because to me it's too harsh) and I don't have any lenses/flashes but the "stock" ones...figured they were mediocre considering...:D
