This maple leaf was protruding through the glass door in my house ... or is this only an illusion?
Shot taken with Sigma 30mm at f/1.4 to have minimal DOF, the leaf was extracted, the backgroud was filtered with glass distortion and desaturated to make glass illusion more striking. The upper part of the leaf was made partially transparent to mix it with the background. Finally 'leaf' level and 'glassy' level were merged.
Does this work for you?

Yes! It works for me, but not as glass. My mind immediately decided it was a leaf frozen in ice (because that is more plausible than glass I suppose).
Very interesting technique. Quite creative Olli. :)
PS: your new avatar startled me at first. So used to the old one...

PS: your new avatar startled me at first. So used to the old one...Thanks Athena. For me, if ice would be the substance, there should be some air bubbles under it as well. I will give a try if I can create that kind of effect as well. (My aim was to create something a bit unreal, that's why the glass ;).)
About my new avatar: did you notice, it's my twin brother - same eyes but different hair cut. :D:D
