It's great to see an artist respond and have fun with photographers. It gives a good feeling. These are 2 of the original Sly & the Family Stone members.

The first one, the vocalist (Ill Again) was waiting until the flash went off before he moved, so I guess he intentionally posed for me.
I like the second one coz she was smiling and pointing as if she knows me, so after the shot, I just smiled back.

This is one of a series of faces Damien, bass player from The Casanovas was pulling at me the other week. After the show he asked if I liked his poses!

Some more Family Stone. The first is their great guitarist who so nice to sit on the stage and pose for me. The second is a terrific smile from Sly's sister and the third is just to show how much fun this group really is having.

I know one good camera store where I live, try to find on google maps in mills ave. and colonial drive. when those 2 roads find each other, there is a good camera store, but right now don't know exactly the name
cheers

a couple of new entries to this...not poses per se, but they definitely looked straight down the aperture.

Here's one from the first live gig I ever shot. I had to use flash because there was NO lighting of value. f/1.4 ISO1600 wasn't enough for usable shutter speeds. I left the white balance as-is because the lighting was all red and I wanted to maintain some of that ambience.

Hmm, I thought I had more... Well, I do have some direct eyecontact shots, and some that look like they pose for me, but in actuality I had the time to make it look so (see this one (http://kuvat.huumakuva.net/displayimage.php?pos=-1438)), and then there's some poses that I'm pretty sure were made for me to photograph (eg. I saw clearly that the artist noticed me), but where you cannot tell that (s)he's posing for the camera specifically.
EDIT: here's one direct eye contact photo I really like:

By the way, there are two women (or girl) photographers in the Finnish music photography scene. As one might guess, they do seem to get more poses (from men performers).
I've been thinking about using really silly clothes to get more glances/smiles/whatever from the performers. Making an ass out of myself must be true dedication to the art :D.

I find if you just hold your camera up high in one hand and then jump up and down waving your arms at the subject it gets their attention most of the time. Especially between songs when no one else is jumping and waving their arms. lol
