This was just a quick candid snapshot of my 3.5 year old daughter. I happened to see that the sun was shining down through my hallway and I loved the dramatic shadows, and grabbed my P&S camera.
I've played around with shadows/highlights, but I thought I would post the original (no changes, just resized) here for your assitance, critique, and comments.
See attachment.
Edits welcome.

amc,
Couldn't decide if I liked the angle, or not?
Did a quick edit, using adj. layers, w/masks.
Some very "quick & dirty" cloning to show possibilities.
From one "Buckeye" to another, I hope you approve
my edit. I'm sure much more quality can be accomplished
w/full-size.

p.s. Very cute daughter, and candid!

Thanks Dennis. My first pass (shadows/highlights only) blew out the wall a bit too much, and a feathered layer mask is probably what I should have tried when doing that.
Thanks to the 800 px / 100K limit on the file size limitations... :-)
Cheers / Go Bucks!

Here's a my quick edit. It's probably similar to your's, seeing as all I mainly did was play with the shadow/highlight, curves and sharpening.
I like the angle you've captured it on and I think it's a great little pose by your daughter.

My try....
Velvia script to add tonal range.
Shadows/Highlights
Contrast via USM
Slight dodging
Sharpened and framed.
It's a bit grainy, but it's a small pic.

Wow, thanks....
Nick-- I love your framing. Is this a CS2 Action or do you do it by hand?
Mickle -- I love your framing too, the textured mat looks awesome.
Next, I think I need to learn all about USM and why to use that versus just Filter>Sharpen.

The frame was done with Mike's Framing Script which is, I assume, the same as Mike (mickle) used, seeing as it is his scipt :).
It's a great little tool and well worth the small cost.
