I shoot commerical products in a small space about 10' x 10' and would like to start shooting with strobes for quicker/brighter picture taking. Can I get your recommendations or experience with different systems. I would be prepared to spend up to $500.00 for system. I need no stands or unbrellas (got them). Shooting with 10D.

Lighting cost $$$, Take a look @ the following website. So far they are the most recommended for low cost. http://alienbees.com/index2.htm

For low cost, check out the Manfrotto Light Modifier. It is essentially a combination of an umbrella and a softbox. I have used it to emulate a main, fill, and hair light by aiming it at a low white ceiling. The whole setup with a Photogenic monolight and stand cost me ~$350.
