Been doing digital photography for sometime now but just ran into problem.
Taking pictures with my S230 of landscape/nature in landscape mode, I take a few shots of people without changing any settings on the camera.
The landscape photos turn out fine but the people look "short" or distorted.
Is it because I didn't change the setting to "portrait"?
I just don't recall this happening before.

Thanks for your help!

Mac,

There should be no need to change your settings to "Portrait."

Could you post an example or two of your distorted pictures?

The wide angle lenses create a barrel distortion, where the edges of the photo round out a bit. This is normal (as the full wide angle lens - the fish eye is a round photo). People shot with this lens setting, may well appear distorted if they are near to the edge of the photo. If your shooting up or down, they again will appear distorted (with feet or head larger). The effect is greater the closer you are to the subject. To shoot people distortion free, shoot at telephoto to midway between tele and wide.
