Here are the shots from Friday nights show of Deryl Dodd, I was hired to shoot them and the opening act (house band)
It is pretty much a given that this lead player is considered one of the top guitar players in the world. I've seen some great ones and there is no doubt he can play with any of them.
No specific order.

Yup, now you know how easy it is to get stunning images when you have the right equipment! Gorgeous. Looks different than I remember Gilley's from 20 years ago! :-)

The Gilley's we all know was actually in Pasedena Tx (Houston). This place bought the name and rights.
I'd be suprised if they are around in a year....the attendance was very poor at this event.

Oh, right, it was Houston ... well, everything in Texas looks the same.

Great shots taygull,
I like the colors and the real professional sharpness of each...
That Gilley's in Pasadena, just a smidgen, south east of downtown Houston was always confused with Pasadena, just north of LA and next to Glendale/Burbank...I had a promo in there once, back in the early and mid 1980's.
It's a good thing you have your EXIF embedded, cause I can study your settings to refresh my memory of how to do it right...

Thanks johnstoy, (I'm 99% sure it was in Pasadena TX proper and not Houston)
Don't forget I shoot in RAW and sometimes underexpose on purpose so I can get a faster shutter speed. I then adjust the exposure using Raw Shooter Essentials Pro.
I take that as a compliment though.
Dwight is the one who convinced me to start embedding the EXIF dat and the IPTC data. If you look up the picture you can get more info on me than I probably want you to have!

Oh yes, you're right, It definitely was downtown Pasadena, TX...It isn't a very prominent City as "Big Cities" go, Gilley's was a block long...while the town, well, back in the 1980's was maybe 20 - 30 blocks long...
Where is the one in Dallas, Downtown? I lived in Las Colinas once...
Regarding the EXIF, I primarily need to remember the Spot Metering mode of shooting for my prime lenses...and the ISO, I just keep at 1600... Might lower the ISO though, depending on the lighting and lens speed at my local venue...
The other info, in my EXIF properties chart, I'll someday refer to, when I process in RAW and use Photo Shop...
Got a new 70-200mm 2.8L IS, this week, but can't use it as a paying patron at my local venue...I'll be using it for deer pictures, as soon as the hunting season is over and all the deer return...

Yes the Dallas Gilleys is right next to the old large Sears building on the south side of downtown, just south of I30.

I see you are in the Poconos. I almost froze to death there about 14 years ago. I worked for a Sports Management company that was about an hour from Allentown. I don't remember the name but it was the location of the very small corporate office.
A guy was taking me to the airport and he blew the motor in his car, a trooper finally came by after a couple hours sitting in the cold. There were very few cell phones back then.
I made it to Allentown but missed my flight. The flight home to Dallas was horrible the next day as I was sick with a high fever and we had lay over somewhere in Mississippi due to storms. About the time we got to Dallas we had to circle for 2 hours waiting for the storms in Dallas to clear.
What a horrible day...the only thing that was great about the trip was we drove the hour or so into New York City one evening and spent 3 or 4 hours there. It was the only time I have been. It was awesome.

I hear you Taygull,
Winter's get pretty icy here...It's good to stay around the yard and take pictures...I have Penn's Peak a year round show venue, just down the road from me for concert venues...
NYC, this includes Manhattan and all the Boroughs, have clubs every where...there are local bands and big band shows Friday's and Saturday's all night long...Country and Western clubs have opened up here and there...while a few C & W radio stations broadcast from the City and NJ too...
The Pocono's are known for their resorts, some are bigger than others and have big night clubs...
I retired from the resort marketing/special promotions/recreational community real estate business... Since the biggest brunt of the work kept me in the sun belt, I returned here to the Pocono's or the North East resorts, periodically to help out...
In Dallas, I worked for a present, US Senator and marketed his South Padre Island Resort, 1985-86...In Houston/Lake Conroe, I was with the Walden Group and Inverness Group Resorts and Real Estate 1981-85.... Sometimes Photography played a role on the job...Shows and Entertainment usually is associated with resorts too...
Sports Management is related to Resort and Recreation Management too...One of my biggest regional resort contract promotions was with the Houston Gamblers USFL Football Team...and photographs from the resorts and the football teams played a major role in the weekly Astrodome promotions through out the long season...
