Will a faster card flash card mean faster in-cam viewing?

I know that a faster CF card won't mean I can take pictures faster (because of the limitations of the A80) but will a faster card flash mean faster in camera viewing?

Can someone with a faster CF card and a regular CF card compare the picture access and viewing times?

Don't think so, the read spead of the camera is probally slower than the card so it wont make a difference, but if you bought a really slow card then you would.

My G3 cannot handle faster speeds so buying a 32X Lexar doesn't make any difference, except when I put it in my USB 2.0 Cardreader. As far as I know only the real Pro-SLR's can use the faster read & writespeeds.

I haven't tried access and viewing times, but I did see an increase in shooting speed with a faster CF card:

I have a new A-70 and a Sandisk Ultra-II 256M CF card (9MB/sec write speed, claimed). In burst-mode with the supplied 16M card, the camera will take 3 frames at ~ 2fps and then slows down to (?) a couple of seconds per frame. With the Sandisk card it will take 10 frames before it slows down.

How are you measuring access and viewing times? I could try it out for you next week when I get back from Barbados. :D I should have plenty of images on the CF by then.

I think the best comparison is between two 256Mb-cards. My standard 32Mb-card is also slower in burst mode than my 256Mb-card.
