As stressful shooting weddings can be.. an email like this from a bride is what its all about... it made me teary eyed! (the gift mentioned was the slideshow I did for them)

Jenni,

Thank you for the amazing pictures and memories you have given us of our
special day. We love your creativity, the pictures, and especially your
gift to us. Both my mother-in-law & I started crying when we watched your
gift. You are so wonderfully creative! The pics were so warm, and you
could just feel the happiness and love from that day. I don't know if that
description makes sense, but that is how I feel looking at the pics.
Instead of stiff, formal looking pictures, you captured the warmth, family,
and closeness of everyone that day, and for most of the day we didn't even
notice the pics were being taken.
.
.
.

Thank you again, we LOVED them all.

I thought it might be encouraging for everyone to read this.. specially the newbies!

That does make all the time and effort seem worthwhile. It also lets you know that you have done your job and done it well. Congrats. I have gotten a few notes like that and I keep a copy of them in with my portfolio that I share with new potential clients. I figure if they see that other clients were happy with the results then they could be also.

It IS well deserved. I really thought the images had an intimacy about them that would be well recieved by the family. It's great to get tears of joy from the bride and family.
Thanks for sharing your good news. So very nice that they took the time to write such a warm and thoughtful note.

GREAT LETTER! And THANKS for sharing!I've been dying to ask you Jenni, all of your site pics are fricken awsome, is there a reason why you favor fixed as opposed to zoom lenses? Probably a stupid question, consider it's coming from a newbie, please bear w/.

good sh*t...I've been meaning to dive into wedding photography but the nightmare stories are more in abundant than these types. Makes me nervous with so much pressure weighing on you during a shoot.
