A bit dark...did you use the IS?.. and the 28-135mm?..a couple of the top three pic's, didn't come up...

yeah, I posted the missing pictures in the third post...

there was not much light in that concert, and the lens is only f:3.5

in some pictures I intentionally set the shutter speed slower, but normally it was 10-20/100

I wish i had a faster lens, thou

try ISO 1600...it will increase your shutter speed considerably....when you get ready...consider...also: otherwise my the lens of choice is 50mm 1.4 from experience and the 85mm 1.8 by recommendation from the pros...

they all were shot at 1600 ISO :/

the 85mm is a great lens, but I need wide angle for I'm in the stage and they sometimes the stage is not that big

If you're real serious, the 24mm 1.4L is classy...or go wider with a zoom L...anything less and I'll regret it a few weeks later...I figure you might too...(However, just to get by for now, the Canon 28mm 1.8 might do the trick...(I'll only buy Canon...)

You already have the 28mm end of the 28-135mmIS...how wide do you want to go?

bassrebel

28mm its pretty wide... but what kills me is the f:3.5 that sometimes in low light I can't make it as fast as I want it to be

I tried my 28-135mmIS and the performers moved around on the stage too much for the IS to help enough...It's still a very good lens for every day outdoor use...

The lens of choice for stage work is 24-70mm f/2.8L and the 70-200mmL 2.8...you probably know that...

the 24-70 would be my ideal choice for low light situations...

I'm just saving to get one of those, and a 50mm 1.8

I purchased the 50mm 1.8 after trying the 28-135mm...used it one day and immediately purchased the 50mm 1.4...There is a huge difference...haven't used the 50mm 1.8 since....

how much is the 50mm 1.4 and the 1.5?

how much is the 50mm 1.4 and the 1.5?

the 50mm 1.4 is $309 and the 1.8 is $75...the if you look inside the glass of the 1.4, it's practically twice as big...and it's super quality as is the 85mm 1.8...

The 50mm 1.8 has good glass, but is smaller and narrower...and is cheaply made...B & H out of NYC has it used for $49.

as for my situation right now I might buy the 1.8 first, and then the 1.4, just to save and use hahaha

Yeah, that's cool...just know you have options...I'd get a used one...however, when you get a chance, check the 1.4 out for quality construction, it's quite different than the 1.8...

Oh Bloody hell, i just wrote out like a whole Book then in auto pilot went back to the next page lol. right il try shortn it lol.
the other day i purchased the 50 1.8, not got to use it yet bu this thurs i will yay. Now this cost me 90 english pounds, now thats fine very cheap fpr a fairly good lense IMHO. but on the way out i noticed the Sigma (Not sure on MM) but it was 1.4, and was like ooohhh lets see that lol. now the Sigma was 249 english sterling, which i guess again is ok, as i happen to like sigma (now obv it has nothing on Canon, im not saying it does but i think they still are very good). so i asked how much the Canon 50mm 1.4 is, and baring in mind my 1.8 was 90 pounds brand new, the 1.4 shot right up to around the 300 pound mark, not to me thats a big jump for like a stops (i think, please correct e if im wrong, lol) difference, in price, now what im asking if any one knows is this Sigma 1.4 will it be good? ( as i said nothing on Canon) but im not loaded so i cant get the canon 1.4 atm, as im currently saving for 30D/24-70mm (used this lense before its awsome)
Any one know, to be honest im not sure this makes sence now as iv tried to shorten it lol, so we will find out if you can answer it lol.
Cheers
James..........

You might want to go to the lens forum but off the top of my head I would guess that the image quality is much improved in the f/1.4 as well as getting that stop. If you want questions, why is the 50mm f/1.2L $1700 when the 50mm f/1.8 is only $75?
