hi im new to the forum. sorry if i accidentally violate any rules.

i'm planning to buy a canon rebel digital slr and i already have a couple AF nikon lenses. i was wondering if i bought a Nikon Lens to Canon EOS Body mount, is it 100% safe and does it perform just as well? meaning, would i lose the features of auto focus and/or auto aperture. thanks!

In all honesty i have no idea but i can safely say you'd be much better off selling your current lenses and investing in some Canon, or if budget is tight, sigma lenses.

Yes you will lose all AF and AE features. Sell the glass and buy Canon compatible lenses.

Hi jeremy!
The eos body to nikon lens adapter is a physical adapter only,so no electrical connections will work.(nor would it be possible to make one that would).
So no autofocus or auto aperture.
You can use a nikon lens in semi-auto 'stop down' mode. That means you set the aperture on the lens, put the camera in program mode and it selects the shutter speed that it needs. The flash works properly even!.
Note that some eos bodies won't meter exactly right without the electronic connections to the lens. Most early models of the eos 7/7e/30/33 family were worst, with the eos 5 abit out too.
My 300D definitely overexposes at least a stop with several cheap 500mm mirror lenses i have here currently.

Just tried my old nikor 105/2.5 on the 300D.It underexposes 1/3 to 2/3 of a stop.

The best place to sell lenses is on ebay.
When you're ready to look for eos lenses,do some web research and ask around here. There are good and not so good value lenses in the range
