I have been shooting with my new 30D and I feel like its a bit cooler than I am used to. I used my 85 1.8 settings : 2.8 ap, ss 250, used flash 550. For the most part I felt like this whole series was a bit cool and lacked saturation. I have not changed any settings (parameters) on the camera other than ss, f stop, iso. What is your suggestion. On settings for the camera and fixing the photo- if needed. Do you gnerally use a photo filter and adjust opacity?
Thanks in advance, KP

Seems fine to me, But don't let me be the final say on that. My monitor isn't calibrated, and is set to the D65 whitepoint, so it may look fine to me, but way cool on another monitor.
In terms of color saturation, it looks great!

It looks fine on my monitor. Yes, I generally will use photo-filter / warming at 10%. A little warmer cast will probably make this feel cozier.

It looks accurate. The one boy is just really pale...
But accurate isn't always pleasing. I tend to warm up my people shots just a tad.

look fine to me.
But it is so easy to adjust so why not try it to your taste.
These things are personal choice you would never get everyone to agree about subtle colour changes.
Especially men, who are so prone to colour blindness to some degree or another.

Thank you all so much! I did do a little playing around and ended up using the sepia filter to 10 -15 %. Yes, CDI, the youngest was really pale in comparison to his brother! I had a hard time with his hair. I felt like it looked a little blown in some shots. the mom was pleased!!! Woo hoo! Thanks for all the comments! I appreciate it!

I agree. To my taste the lips are too saturated.

Kathy... I think the colors are dead on. My monitor is calibrated. And I think the exposure is also dead on... but honestly if the mom is happy... what else matters? :)
