Does anyone shoot with an Alien Bee setup? If so what kind of work do you do, and how do they perform? And of course some sample shots would be helpful. Looking to buy some lighting so looking for options. I've already explored the 550EX option.

I have only had my set since early December, but seems to make a huge improvement over using 550EX or continuous lighting (way cooler too)

One best example from my first model shoot with the ABs

I am still learning the lights so I am not fully happy with the my results yet, but making much progress

Definately like the Alien Bees (although I really wanted Turquoise :D

Oh I forgot, I mostly do models (lately just for the fun of it)

I have 1 alienbees strobe and use a white reflector card for the fill. It has been great. I have learned a lot. I bought a Minolta flashmeter off eBay. You need it.

I am just a home hobbyist and can't justify spending more. Plus, Alienbees has a 30 day return policy, so you can't lose, really.

It is fine for using with my canon g2, but I have found my best results come from shooting with film.
