I just thought I'd throw something out there for you juys to think about. I regularly shoot a 30 second frame in a pitch black room with the eyepiece covered, and the body cap on to get an idea of how many hot pixels I am getting on the sensor. I just returned from a trip to San Fransisco where I was shooting the Golden Gate bridge at night. I have all kinds of new (and colorfull) hot pixels. I can't help but wonder if it was caused by the X-Ray machine I went through here in Memphis when we were at the elevated security level. It was carry on baggaga, I didnt want to let it out of my sight. Was it the X-Rays, or just a coincidence? What is considered "acceptable" by Canon standards? The 1 year warranty is about up.... Thanks for your input.

I'm with Tin Man on this one. My 10D has been through airport security in various parts of the world at least 40 times and I haven't developed any hot pixels. I would suggest that it is mere coincidence.

Thank you, I can live with coincedince, I would hate to have to leave it to the mercy of the baggage handlers!! It was nice to hear from folks that have been doing it!

I spent a total of 50 hours in the air in 2003... My 10D has been x-rayed so any times, I'm surprised it doesn't glow in the dark :)
No problems....
