This show was in last Sunday in Houston. The original member, "Chinaman", reformed the group. When I talked to him backstage, he said they were reinventing 2 Live Crew with a new sound. I believe he said the new group will be named X-Rated Riders.

These were all shot at ISO 1600. Because I forgot it was set to 1600. Also the first show that I actually shot in aperture priority... I'm such a Canon newb...

Hip Hop, is hard to capture, as they love to eat the Mic, but i really really like 2 and 4, also i like your watermark alot, vey neet.
all in all good clean crisp, with nice color.
Where was the Venue? and what were you shooting with?
James....

P.S what was the lighting like? and ISO 1600 is what i probably shoot most concerts ith etc.

You might want to consider ISO3200 ... there just isn't enough light.

I tried to keep the watermark as subtle as possible so it doesnt take away from the image. I can't take credit for that. I think I saw someone else on this forum that had a similar mark but in the center of the image.

When I was shooting primarily Nikon, I would usually shoot at 1600. I've found when shooting with Canon 1D MK2, 800 was adequate. I think out of habit I had it set on 1600. Some of the shots were up to 1/500, which was higher than I'm used to. Usually around 1/60th or so is what I shoot at. The lighting was mixed. By mixed, I mean, tungsten bulbs, red cans, strobes, and spotlight. And of course the two most annoying lights, blacklight and LED lights. I don't really have good samples of the lighting in the venue that I could share, but if you're interested, here is the link (http://gallery.redmousez.com/thumbnails.php?album=179). Some of the content is a bit "NWS"

The venue is called Fitzgeralds. One of the older venues thats still standing. I shot Cowboy Mouth there last week as well. I'll post those later on.

There was enough light for iso 800. I want to say its for a darker environment, for mood. But it's really to drown out the ugly background...

Your EXIF has 1/13th second at f/2.8 and ISO1600 in one image:D ... not sure what would happen at ISO800?

I remember the first 2 Live Crew song I heard called What I Like in 1985. I was like 12 years old.

That second one is quite good, imho :) Don't be afraid of ISO 1600! :p
