Strange firmware 1.2.9 on My Eos 1D

Dear all,

I just bought a new used Canon Eos 1Ds MarkII.
Its firmware is a strange version 1.2.9...

I looked on canon web site so the last firmware is 1.1.4.

The problem is my camera is very slow to write on CF or SD card so I tried to update to the last official canon firmware version but the camera refused.

"firmware error"

What do you think about that ?

Do have I to send back this camera to canon store or do you know a trick to force update firmware ?

Download the 1.1.4 firmware from here (http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/eos1dsm2/eos1dsmk2_firmware-e.html), follow the instructions and update the firmware on the unit. See what that does.

edit: oops, missed where you said you tried updating it, ignore my post above. I'd return it.

Well either it has another cameras software on it or the old cosmic ray thing. If you cannot get it to upgrade, it may be time for canon to look at it. Hope its under warranty.
