Hey guys and gals, yet again a non-wedding photographer is here looking for advice on shooting a wedding. For some quick background, my best friends sister is getting married in late January, both she and her fiance are basically broke so the whole thing is going to be fairly low budget. I wasn't even half way suprised when I was asked to do their photography for them. I would have declined had I thought they had the cash for a decent pro but such is not the case.
Now I'm not new to photography, I've even shot a couple weddings before, so I don't need instructions on exposure, metering modes, or what an f/stop is. I'm pretty good when it comes to available light and candid shots, I suppose that would make me sort of a PJ style shooter. However, I do realize that my weaknesses are posing and using artificial light. So finally, here comes my question. Would you recommend picking up a general wedding photography book that touches on a bit of everything, or should I get a book on portrait modeling? Perhaps I should do both. If you have any books that you think would be good reading for me, specifically ones that cover wedding formals, please share.
