Took this indoors using the camera flash, testing all the different setting on the XTI so not sure what will come out yet

Nice, but seems a little overexposed on my monitor.
One "trick" I learned that works well for me is to set the flash to just enough to properly light your subject, but then back down the exposure compensation (assuming you're not shooting in "M" mode). Doing this darkens the background and lets your subject really jump out nicely.

a little too much flash but it could be just using the onboard flash.. maybe you can do a little bit of compensation and bring it down a bit...

OK, I have tried every thing to adjust this thing to look correct, I give up, will now wait for my 430EX to come back from Canon repair and shoot it again with a bounce. Thanks for the input
