Hi,

I've tried my best to enhance my wife's beauty using the famous mizuno's tutorial. All your comments are more than welcome. I do mostly macro but sometimes I'm eager to experiment.

Shes a pretty lady but the lipstick seems odd. Did you photoshop it any?

The contrast between soft and not-soft is too much. Tone down the softness some.

Terrific eyes and pretty face ! I find the portrait to be too bright with no lighting ratio ... no good shadows to give 3 dimensionality. It still would be good if nopt for the blouse. If I had a client come in with a top like that, after we had a planning consultation, I might just send them home for something else. Try turning the portrait upside down and then squint at it. You will see that your eyes are drawn to the top more than her face.

Gorgeous. I do agree that the skin smoothing is just a tad too much. If i could make just one other suggestion? I noticed that the whites of her eyes are a little bit red. I would select them and desaturate the reds in that area to whiten them up a bit.

Great capture of a beautiful subject. Her eyes are amazing.

I was trying the exact same thing tonight. That's a nice shot, but the pp is a little over the top. Try playing with the around with the opacity of the brush. I set mine at approx. 45%. I think it did pretty good, but it's just an example. Hope you don't mind. These are crops of the original.

Hmm... I don't like the blurriness around the mouth/nose area. beuatiful eyes, but the attention is stolen by the mouth which looks out of place. Other than that, it's a nice shot.

Cinci - Nice photo!

Thank you all for your comments. I agree that I went too far with PP, but I've just finished mizuno's tutorial and I could not stop :-) I will certainly take your remarks under consideration as these are my first steps with portraits (total newbie in this area). I will try to work with this picture again and post what I come up with.
If you are interested you can see the oryginal shot:

The thing most distracting is the blouse. I'm posting my version to try to show you how clothing choice is so important. I've improved the entire image.

I re-worked your image quite a bit. I cropped off her armpit ...never a good idea to include. I've also opened up her eyes ... not perfect but it shows how smiling a bit too much with the mouth makes eyes squint too much on some people. It was made into a step-mount in order to put her on a golden mean point as well as rotate it for a little more dynamic feeling.

Thanks, the original photo was a full body shot from head to toe, but I cropped in order to show the skin softening on the face. The original image was was too far away to show the effect. I don't care too much for the eyes, it makes it look unnatural. I do like the framing or whatever you call it.

Craig: Thanks for a grait PP. To be honest I had the feeling of going to far with my PP but enjoyed it so much :-) Next time I will try to be more subtle.

cheers

I don't think the blouse is too distracting. And to be honest with you, she doesn't need the skin softening, but I understand the need to perfect this technique. As you stated, maybe a little more subtle on the pp, however, the composition and focus detail are dead on. Nice job.
