Hi All!

I have been working as a second photog for a local guy for 7 weddings now. He wants me to put together a print portfolio to show his clients. I was wondering if any of you had some sort of standard that you used when you made your first album. Since it's going to be a mix of weddings, both posed formals and PJ shots. did you have a formula or just randomly add shots? What would you say the top 10 shots to have in there would be? any detail shots or only people? Thanks in advance for your replies!!!!

Well you could ask the Pro what type of shots he would like for his clients. Is it and album or a portfolio?

If it is an album - definiely include some detail work.

If it is a portfolio of 8x10's I would stick with mainly shots of the bride and groom as well as some of the bridal party.

thanks for the input!

Well it will be in an album, but a portfolio of my work. I will be an 11x14 flush mount. the pro has no opinion... I did ask him. He just wants me to put together what I want. Problem is I have too many shots and need to narrow. But what to cut? and I also dont want to leave anything out.

An additional question.... would you sway towards more bride and groom (individual and together, posed and unposed) or try to make more of a start to finish kinda thing. Even though it's from multiple weddings?

Go with the gut ... use only images that 'grab' you and make you stop to look at them. Don't think about it so much, but go with your initial impression.
