Borderline is a great little venue, with no red lights :)

Love the keyboardist/accordianist (I always love the girl musicians) but they are all dark. I'm sure Rene can give you some hints on PP to improve them.

Rene?

Did anyone call? ;)

I don't think they are that dark... A bit of a curves adjustment layer might help "lead the eye" of the viewer to the faces. Make the faces a bit lighter, the corners a bit darker. I can give an example if you turn your image editing to "OK".
I do think there is a bit of a greenish cast I'd remove. (Most noticable on #4)
Oh; some nice images. allthough #1 and 3 are cropped a bit too tight IMO.

Here you go.
In Photoshop:
Curves adjustment layer to add a bit of red, and remove a bit of blue/green from the skintones. (Same layer on all images)
Curves adjustment layer to lighten parts of the image (faces, accordeon)
Curves adjustment layer to darken parts of the image (corners)

Images are 'clickable' to get to the .PSD files with the curves adjustment layers intact. Just DL them, and drag them on your highres images (transform the masks to fit) to see if you like it and / or tweak / experiment.

Thanks a lot Rene, I think the images look better now. I know very little about PS, how do you make the mask only apply to certain areas pls? (e.g. the face or corners)

In PS go to the bottom of the layers palette, and click the symbol that looks a bit like a yin/yang sign. (contrast symbol). This gives you a drop down menu. Select 'curves' and adjust the curve. Click OK.
In the layers palette, select the adjustment layers mask (or make one if it doesn't have one (Older versions PS)). Use the airbrush to mask (black = hide; white = reveal)
Use an aggressive curve first to see how it works...
Adjustment layers are very neat: you can go back and change an adjustment, you can go back and change a mask, you can use levels, blur and what not on the mask. Very powerfull.
