I am looking at getting a mass storage device, I've limited it down to these two. There is only $20.00 difference between them, they seem to stack up about the same. Just looking for some opinions!!
Thanks,
Jason

I use the new 15Gb iPod. Using the Belkin interface module, works fine, iPod acts like a harddrive on the computer.
This way, tunes and storage, in one box. Not a single use device.
Slow downloads and eats the battery a little, but....

Thats a big "but" mark. How slow is slow exactly? Also look at the price difference, I bought an Xdrive and 10 gig hd for like $150. What are iPods going for around 300 cheapest?
Jason I wouldnt take as many shots as I do w/o my Xdrive. Me likes :)

But, it took approx 2 minutes for 50 large jpegs and 17 RAW images.
Took away 1/4 battery

I bought the Image Tank G2 and found it reliable and easy to use.

d/l time seems ok but the battery consumtion isnt very good. You would empty like 4 or 5 256meg cards and have to recharge and if your playing music that cut down even more.

I have the 40 gig Image Tank G2 and have used it with no problems. The longest streach I used it was during a 9 day all day shooting event. I ended up with 20 gigs of files on the G2 with no problems. I never used more th an half of the battery capacity each day (I recharged each night) and I dumped it to my laptop harddrive and a external firewire harddrive each night for redundency. When I got home I dumped the whole 20 gigs via USB 2.0 to my home computer. Didn't lose anything and it ran fine.
The only nit I have about it is that the CF card slot is a little stubborn at times. If you don't slide the CF card in correctly it won't slide over the pins. The side slides that guide the card in don't seem to be long enough and lets the CF card have a little bit of play until it's seated. But that was only a minor thing.

Just checked out an Image Tank reseller here in the UK - and it is noted as discontinued!
Maybe a case for price cuts on existing, now non-production stock?
