How can I determine the number of accutations on an S1?

'Actuations' doesn't really apply here...but I'm sure you cannot check how many pictures you've taken..

The number of actuations really isn't an issue on a compact, as Ty says - there's no electromechanical shutter to wear out. Short of having access to service centre equipment (which still may not tell you), the only hope is if continuous numbering is in use and has never been reset, in which case you can tell from the file and folder name.

Most cameras store data in the exif which can be used to calculate things like this. Im not sure if this is true for the S1, or how to calculate it though.
