Nice capture Linda. I saw a small flock of these two winters ago, during a snow storm, but I was on a business trip and didn't have my camera with me. :(

Nice shot Linda. I see he has some water drops on his back. Does this duck spin around on the water?

First time I have seen one of these specialized duck's, the long tailed ones, good capture and the water droplets on the back is a good bonus, well done.

Nice one Linda. We get a couple of these in the wild close by every year - but they are always hard to get close to.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind comments - its very encouraging feedback on here and I appreciate it very much :)

These little ducks were in an enclosure at our local Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust reserve, so it is a real treat for me to see these.

Mitch: They are extremely busy little ducks, yes, they spin, dip and dive and are always on the go over water lol.

I wondered about the spinning, cause I was reading about a certain duck in the US that does that in shallow water. What they are doing is getting a whirlpool going that sucks up stuff off the bottom, then they eat it from the surface. :)

Very nice. I like the ripples and droplets of water, they really add to an already great picture.
