Was wondering if anyone had information regarding taking digital cameras (D30) through airport X-ray machines? Any issues or is it better to get a hand inspection?

hi...

i travel regularly with my d-30...

there is no film so there is no danger of x rays affecting anything...

although i hardly let it out of my sight...have no fear...

Yep, no problem so far. Only travel-related issue I've heard is that Microdrives can't work on higher pressure of a airplane because the head is no close to the disk. I haven't had guts to try if that's true of not yet :)

Do airlines allow digital camera use on the planes? I have always wondered but never got around to asking.

It's always better to ask from staff if it's ok to use it before powering the camera.
