Except for a little softness in #1 and #7 and #8 these are great, John. Is their name really 'Hot, Hot "Slaughter"' or did you just add the 'Hot, Hot' part ... gets a little confusing. Would also be nice to have a wider angle shot of the whole stage, too.

Thanks for the compliment Dwight,

I now, see what you mean regarding the softness...I chose these above some repetitious images...No...they are just "Slaughter"...the hot, hot's, I added for glitter...The wide angle, shots I really like to get, just to round out the entire scenario...I chose to stay in my seat, cause of the crowds gathering around me...I used one lens, the 85mm 1.8...

This 85mm Lens you suggested is a real treat...It's the only lens I used all night...

Oh, I love that ... "GLITTER"! I don't think you'll attract more lookers with it but I really like the sound of it! I know I carry on and on about some of the acts I shoot and now I have something I can call my rambling. You're sure putting a good face on that 30D. ;)

I hear you Dwight,

It's getting easier to work with the 30D now...The extra lenses help to get me involved with more subjects to shoot...and with practice, I try to iron out the kinks...

Just some interesting info on the band: Toured the world with Kiss and Ozzy...

Mark Slaughter is a fantastic showman...he got the audience roaring with enthusiasm and rounds of applause and standing ovations through out the show...

At one time he was way in the middle of the audience singing and shaking hands with everyone...

Would you expect anything less from a guy born on the 4th of July?..and in Las Vegas, Nevada, too boot?

Beautiful work !!! Boy are you bringing back some good memories !!!

Thanks Gary,
The performers made it a lot easier for me...It first, they were hesitant to stick around for a picture...there were others with SLR's around me, so the band members took a little bit of time to occasionally walk over for a picture...Mike Slaughter is a heavyweight entertainer...being from Vegas, he has some great showmanship talent...Personally, I enjoyed this show more than most, of the entire year...

The drummer one is great. Congrats

Thanks urbandancer,
I snapped the picture, but it was Mike Slaughter's idea to walk over to, and sit by the drummer...he poured a little bit of water on the drum and there you have it...

good job there

Thanks for the compliment Mike,
I got there real early before the show, and waited in line for hours, to get a good seat...Got it by stage side and waited for opportune times to take the pictures from my seat...

NICE!!!

did they do "up all night" and "fly to the angels"?!?! Please say 'yes'!

I always said if I could live out a rockstar dream, I would have Mark Slaughter's voice...lol it's so awesome for 80's power balad type music :D

nice pics

Way YES, suomi7777...There were fans driving 6 hours to get to this gig...I had no idea it would be that hot...

Mark definitely has that Vegas air about him...And it's great for showmanship...

After spending around 15 minutes out in the audience singing and shaking hands...he walked along the rail seats, by the sides of the stage...after covering the entire area he headed toward me and my camera...I cleared the rail in front of me of all the coffee and beer cups, and he stood right in front of me for several minutes more, singing and shaking hands...

I'm glad you like the pictures...It was the first time I saw his show and think it is one of the best around...
He has a band web site...within the web site are "Links"...within the links are some fan club postings...it's free and there are some comment's from this show...

Make the best of your time in Germany...

Take Care...

Hi John:

I love the pictures! It was a great show and you captured the night perfectly. They rocked the house!!

I have a quick question for you. I got up on stage to sing with Mark during the last song ( Up all Night). Is there any chance that you have any pictures from the last song? I had on a black shirt and jeans. Thanks for checking and keep up the good work.
Regards,
Bill

Say Bill,

What does your black shirt look like?...what's the color of your hair?...I was going through the memory card in the camera quite quickly and was unable to shoot too many pictures, with Skid Row yet to follow...So, I only have one picture and It's my recollection that you were one of a few guys on the stage waiting to sing...So... let me know what you look like and I'll 1st post the picture here, in this thread, if you'd like...Also, I'll Email you the photo...Now here is the kicker...The photos I take at Penn's Peak are for personal use only and you will be subject to the same conditions...the photo will remain mine and you will get a copy, for personal use only...

Hi John:

Thanks for the reply and for taking the time to look through your photos. My shirt was a black short sleeve button down with small lines running across it. I have dark brown hair. I understand the photo would be for my personal use only and appreciate you sharing it with me. All the Best, Bill

That's Great Bill,

The chances of this happening were pretty slim...We are in luck though...This is the only pic, I have of your very good performance on the song with Mark...

John! You have made my day. :D I can't believe that you had it! The shot is great - this will be a prized photo in my personal collection and it was truly a thrill to sing with Mark and his band. I met him over the summer attended this show with some friends of mine. He is an extremely talented guy who is so down to earth. Thanks for everything!! All the Best, Bill
