Ok been out with the camera today and it was mainly overcast, there are a couple of shots I like (out of 70 ha) but obviously the sky is grey and naff, is there an easy way to place a nice blue sky I have from another pic, or do I have to just cut the landscape off using the extract option in CS2 and overlap the two pictures?

overcast for me means black and white conversions.. I don't try to saturize color where there was non.. and I think the first shot would lend itself very nicely to black and white.

On a grey day, shoot detail; go for close-ups of interesting features. Also, head for the woods. you'll gave far less problem with contrast as you should have a more even light to play with You've done well with the light you had; that one of the cottage cries out for another day with a blue sky and fluffy clouds.
Most importantly. just enjoy whatever the weather throws up!

they were east facing shots, if they only had been west facing the sky was a little nicer but the sun was there and spoiled it a little, here is one of the castle ruins a little closer
